S.C. Gunn - Artist/Filmmaker/Photographer

If I had to choose words to describe my work as a Cinematographer and Photographer I’d choose two.

Beautiful Synchronicity.

That is what I aim to do with my 35mm film exposures and digital captures. The art and science of framing and freezing time or recording space with lighting just so and a unique angle just so - a moment that will never come again is a super power. 

My motivation is knowing that all pictures tell stories no matter if they are static or moving. Artist don’t take pictures, they make pictures. What you put in or leave out of your frame is your perspective, your view of the world. Creativity is sunlight that warms and illuminates the universe.

S.C. was born and raised in a suburb of Chicago, IL. and has over 25 years of professional photographic and filmmaking experience. He fell in love with cameras in High School and that lead to shooting Digital Portraits, Editorial/ Image Captures and 35mm analog Film/Image Exposures. A graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale's Film program, he has made several short subject and feature films. His photography work is displayed here and his filmography is listed on IMDb.com as S.C. Gunn and Shawn C. Gunn.
